   A country of outstanding natural beauty, Canada has a wide variety of landscapes; the mountains, the prairies, lakes and rivers with many national and provincial parks to protect the habitats. With a total land mass of 9,984,670 sq km (3,855,103 sq mi), Canada is the second largest country in the world. There are more lakes and inland waters in Canada than any other country, in fact 7.6% or 755,180 sq km (291,577 sq) is made up of fresh water.

   Canada is located in North America and stretches all the way from the Atlantic to the Pacific, being made up of ten Provinces and three Territories. To the North is the Artic ocean; Davis Strait on the North East separates it from Greenland, to the East is the Atlantic Ocean; the South is bordered by the United States of America and the West by the Pacific Ocean and Alaska.

Vancouver

   Vancouver is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It has that rare combination of mild climate, beautiful natural surroundings, as well as reminders of its fascinating history and culture that can be seen everywhere. It is no wonder that this city is a magnet for not only other Canadians but people from all over the world. The population of Vancouver is 2 million, making it the 3rd largest city in Canada. It is also an international city with a broad and diverse mix of cultures and peoples. In fact, Vancouver's Chinese population is well over 200,000, making it the 2nd largest Chinese-populated city in Canada.

   A large part of Vancouver's attraction is its gentle and clement weather, so unlike the rest of Canada. Due to the effect of the warm Pacific Ocean currents, its winter is generally mild, with mostly rain or light snow from time to time. In summer, it is neither too hot nor cold, making for an extremely pleasant and livable environment year-round.

   Due to these natural and man-made advantages Vancouver is the only city in the world in which you can ski in the morning, play tennis in the afternoon, and dine in an Asian restaurant and enjoy a Broadway show in the evening.
